Senior Turns Down Four Job Offers Received Following Career Fair

EVANSTON, Il. - Weinberg Senior Adam Donnovan received four job offers after the completion of University Career Service’s Career Fair today, which he said he attended “just for fun.”

“Yeah, I mean four is good I suppose,” said Donnovan, who managed to score internships with Forbes Global 2000 companies each of the past three summers. “I don’t know. My dad and I thought I’d get more.” Upon learning that most students do not get any offers as a result of attending career fairs, Donnovan stated, “Well, I guess that’s what happens when you don’t spend your whole life having your dad help you make professional connections.” He declined to comment on how exactly his father “helped” with said connections.

Donnovan’s current roommate, Patrick Ryan, who graduated last spring with a degree in Communications and currently works part-time as an Apple Store Specialist, seemed less than surprised at Donnovan’s success.

“Listen, this guy is like a brother to me but like if we were real brothers, I’d be getting those offers, too,” Ryan told reporters between gulps of whiskey. “I don’t want to say Adam just gets things handed to him, but it’s more like he gets things shoved in his face because of who his dad is. I mean, Adam is a well-meaning guy. He deserves these offers, I guess.”

Donnovan has since turned each of his offers down, as he plans to backpack through Europe for a year after graduation and then work for his dad, the CEO of Chuck E. Cheese Entertainment, Inc.
