Seeing the Bright Side: Canada Won’t be Chilly for Long!

Seeing the Bright Side: Canada Won’t be Chilly for Long!

On November 9th, 2016, many Americans woke up in a country that they did not recognize. For many, the prospect living in a country that could elect Donald Trump was completely unfathomable. Though the past days have been long, behind all the clouds, there may be a rainbow in Myron Ebell, President Elect Trump’s pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency. As a devout climate change denier, it seems pretty safe to assume that under Ebell’s leadership Canada is about to get a lot hotter!

Ebell serves as the head of the Cooler Heads Coalition, an organization dedicated to fighting so-called “global warming alarmism.” In the face of hundreds of scientific agencies that agree that climate change exists and can be attributed to human actions, Ebell chooses to instead consult his own instincts, telling Vanity Fair that global warming is “nothing to worry about.”

In the past days, many Americans have expressed excitement about Canadian immigration, so much so, that they actually crashed the Canadian Immigration website on the night of the election. With attractive policies such as socialized healthcare and attractive Prime Ministers such as Justin Trudeau, many liberals have looked to Canada as a potential oasis in the face of a Trump presidency. For some, Canada’s cold temperatures have served as a deterrent for immigration, but with the EPA under Edell’s leadership, a new temperate climate may attract a new generation to Canada’s shores!

In a polarized political climate characterized by so much hate, with the EPA under Myron Ebell, Americans can at least look forward to tropical beach vacations in the Yukon Territory.
