(via ishootshows.com) EVANSTON, Il. - Mayfest announced today that it will forgo hiring a photographer for next year’s Dillo Day festival, and will instead hire Medill junior Cooper Reynolds, who spent the entirety of the event obtaining a poor quality recording on his phone of an event that everybody around him was watching in person. Members of the Mayfest executive board expressed that Reynolds was doing a great service to himself and the rest of his school by documenting an event that he, and literally everybody else, had physically attended.

Reynolds, whose other hobbies include posting Facebook “check-ins”, browsing social media while at dinner with friends, and being a bandwagon sports fan, was reportedly very excited for endless opportunities to re-live the night he spent watching his favorite performers in person, through a screen.

“No one else got exactly that angle,” said one Mayfest member involved with the decision to bring in Reynolds. “He spent the entire day holding an iPhone three feet above his head and staring through the screen. If that’s not the way to experience live music, I don’t know what is, and it provided some really valuable footage.”

Reynolds listed “Birthday Song” and “Used 2” among his favorite 2 Chainz tracks, and said that he was very excited for the opportunity to finally watch them performed live on a four-inch screen with shitty audio.
